What IS Beholder Aquatics?
Short Answer: Beholder Aquatics is a water feature company based in North Georgia that offers solutions for any problem or project a client could have relating to their koi ponds, waterfalls or water fountains.
Long Answer: Established in 2024, Beholder Aquatics is a young company founded by biologist Erik Loughrey Johnson Jr. This fast-growing business entity seeks to revolutionize the way North Georgia appreciates and interacts with water features the caliber and quality of which most people have never seen in their lives.
We are not for everyone. There are people who are perfectly content with a hole in the ground with a rubber liner thrown inside of a ring of rocks at the bottom of a tube-shaped waterfall. There are people who believe it is in their best interest to entrust their luxury water feature to the care of the lowest-paid, lowest-educated, lowest work-ethic contractor they can find, concerning themselves only with costs of services. Bless their hearts, but they are not like us. That is not who we are.

Why Go Green With Beholder Aquatics?
-
Eco-Friendly Filtration Systems
We prioritize natural and energy-efficient filtration methods, such as biological filtration and wetland filtration, to maintain crystal-clear water without harsh chemicals. These systems encourage beneficial bacteria growth, naturally breaking down waste and reducing environmental impact. -
Sustainable Water Management
Water conservation is at the core of what we do. We design and implement water-efficient systems that minimize waste, promote rainwater harvesting, and encourage recirculation to reduce excessive water consumption. -
Natural and Non-Toxic Treatments
Traditional pond chemicals can harm local ecosystems, but our eco-friendly treatments, such as beneficial bacteria, barley extract, and aquatic plant integration, support a balanced and healthy pond environment without introducing toxins. -
Native and Aquatic Plant Selection
Incorporating native plants into your aquatic landscape enhances biodiversity, provides natural filtration, and supports local wildlife such as pollinators, birds, and beneficial insects. We help you choose the right plant life to create a thriving ecosystem. -
Solar-Powered and Energy-Efficient Solutions
Reduce your carbon footprint with our solar-powered aeration and low-energy LED lighting options. These alternatives not only lower energy consumption but also keep your water feature running efficiently year-round
WHY?
Why do any of this? Why do people dig holes in their yard, fill them with rubber liners, rocks, gravel, plants and fish? Why do all of this knowing that things can go wrong, and that these systems usually have to be rebuilt after a couple decades? We do it because it doesn't have to last forever to be beautiful, to be worthwhile. Such is life, no? We do it because we know that it isn't just a pond. It’s so many different things for each person. It is the plant enthusiast’s aquatic flower garden, it is the Japanese Koi collection for the fish keeper, it is the ecology classroom for the studious, but really it’s even more than all of that.

We do it because it gives us time. Our world is changing - quickly. More than ever we find ourselves absorbed into our technological portals to the internet and into the indoors away from nature. It’s not an obscure observation anymore. It’s real, and we know you’ve seen it too. Having a water feature like this is a focal point for your outdoor area. It’s where you take your kids to feed the fish in the evenings, or where you and your spouse set up some chairs and a charcuterie-for-two. It’s where you can have a good soak at the end of a hot day or where you go when you need time to reflect. These are moments that likely wouldn't have happened if a water feature wasn't a part of your life. But those moments will stay with you forever if you get to experience them like we have, and we believe that’s worth sharing.
